Charity Research & Due Diligence Reports
Philanthropy is based on voluntary action to aid the common good of society. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to improving quality of life. To assure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, donors need information.
To provide donors with the information they need to make an informed charitable decision, and to monitor and evaluate the charities, Benefaction’s Donor Advised Funds now provide extensive reporting backed by rigorous research and due diligence. We have partnered with Place2Give which draws several public data sets, including Canada Revenue Agency, Charity Intelligence, The Donner Award, the Fraser Institute and the charities themselves to provide our clientele with this in-depth information.
The philanthropic information analysis includes:
• Financial Management
• Governance & Policies
• Human Resources & Administration
• Volunteer Opportunities
• Community Relations & Media
• Program Offerings
Registered charities and qualified recipients selected by donors are screened to ensure they are listed on the Charities Directorate Database with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). In addition to the provided screening and reporting, Benefaction and its partners help donors to undertake an assessment of a specific charity or identify ones which exclusively target the donor’s top causes.

Annual Review of Benefaction’s own Charity Portfolios
Benefaction review it’s own Charity Portfolios on an annual basis to ensure each registered charity continues to meet our criteria for inclusion in a portfolio; and to determine any new portfolios or organizations for support in the coming years.
