How DAFs work

If you think a Donor Advised Fund is for you, Benefaction makes it easy, cost-effective and tax-efficient for you and your family to make a difference. It is like having your own foundation— without the expense and hassle of managing an organization. We can help you find solutions aligned with your planned giving objectives.

A simple 3 step process

1. Gift

Complete our Donor Agreement in which you and your family choose a name for your fund, select the charity or charities you want to support and, if you want to work with your own advisor, advise how to invest the money in your fund.  Upon receipt of your donation, Benefaction issues you a donation tax receipt.

2. Grow

Your donation is invested and a portion is allocated annually for charitable purposes, leaving the original donation invested.

3. Grant

Benefaction will manage the gifts from your fund to the charities of your choice.  You can change the charities anytime by providing us with written instruction.  We will provide regular reporting on fund activity and the good your grants are doing.

Donate cash, securities, life insurance, and gifts from your estate to your fund, or invite family members, friends and colleagues to get involved in your cause by making a donation to your fund.
